About Kate Holland Books
Fine bookbinding for the 21st century. Using centuries old techniques and materials but with a modern aesthetic, I create bindings which reflect the content and feel of the text and illustrations. I also work with clients on creating very limited editions, whether there own text or a family archive. I can advise on creating the whole book from editing, typesetting and layout, to printing, binding and boxmaking. And I teach - at West Dean, Shepherds, The Craftsmans Cottage and from my workshop in beautiful countryside just outside the vibrant, artisan market town of Frome.
Multi award winning artist bookbinder, specialising in contemporary fine binding. Fellow of Designer Bookbinders. Binder to the Booker Prize. Winner of the Mansfield Medal in the DB National Bookbinding Competition and one of 25 winners of the Silver Prize in the DB International Bookbinding Competition. Books in private and public collections worldwide including British Library, V&A National Art Library, Bodleian Library, Walker Library of Human Imagination, Harvard University Library.
