Lorna Singleton Spelk Basketry

About Lorna Singleton Spelk Basketry
I coppice an ancient oak woodland in South Cumbria to make traditional Cumbrian oak spelk baskets.
Using the same material, skills and techniques I make other styles of basket, backpacks, shoulder bags, lighting and other woven wooden products in oak. I also make and teach split wood baskets in hazel, in groups or 1-2-1. Basketry details in oak bark tanned leather. I occasionally make other coppice products such as fencing, gates, besoms & treen and sell beanpoles, peasticks and peeled oak lengths.
I have a workshop and shop at Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre and often open to the public while I'm open. See my website events page for upcoming open days or contact me to make an appointment.
