About Clair-J. Napier-McDonald
Inspired by the magical meadow (folkvangr) of the goddess Freyja which features in Norse mythology, my work is predominantly themed on flora and fauna incorporated with undertones of ‘folk art’. I chose to work with stained glass, using the ‘foiled’ method rather than ‘leaded’ to give me the freedom of intricacies if wanted and the added 3D effect, which in itself can create structural challenges. In the future I hope to expand in to larger freestanding works and further explore the use of coloured light. I currently create a variety of items for interior design including window art and my freestanding 'Tree of Life' candelabras.
