Imogen Bright Moon

About Imogen Bright Moon
Imogen Bright Moon is a British Romani craftswoman and weaver, creating contemporary textile works through her studio practice, alongside commissioned charitable arts projects (Romani Cultural & Arts Company), exhibition (ONCA Brighton), and publication (Woven & Worn, Canopy Press 2019 & The Selkie, Magpie Publishing, 2018). Imogen’s sustainable studio practice includes educational mentorship through apprenticeship (recipient, Rose Riedel O’Brien, 2019) and as a freelance visiting lecturer and workshop leader on international arts courses at BA and MA levels since 2006. Bright Moon Weaving Studio practices an ethos of ethical, circular textile design, taking a integrated, holistic position on what it means to be a heritage ‘slow-craft’ maker at a time of growing ecological awareness, and a shift in global perspectives around mental health, physical wellbeing and the role of the creative arts to include historic and cultural ways of working in balance.
