About Me
I am an experienced bobbin lacemaker. I make, design, teach and publish about lacemaking. The craft of lace for me is very much for personal enjoyment and study, as well as being able to give me the opportunity to pass on the skills of the craft to others. My knowledge of lace is mainly concentrated on the English bobbin laces, Bedfordshire in particular being my favourite. I have been involved with The Lace Society for many years and completed my term of office as the chair earlier in 2014 during which I was instrumental in instigating a collaborative exhibition of contemporary lace at Waddesdon Manor, Bucks for the whole 2014 season.
I was also fortunate to be nominated for and be chosen as the winner of the HCA, Marsh Christian Trust Craft Volunteer Award for 2012.
Latest activities: Preparing a lace exhibition to help the Whitchurch Silk Mill bicentenary celebrations in 2015, which will be in place from October of that year.
