Can be flexible for courses on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
In this workshop you will use traditional tools such as files, sandpaper and stickpress and learn how to straighten a stick using either a steam box or a heat gun depending on numbers in the class at the time. You will be taught the basic techniques to create your own stick which you will take home with you. The skills you will learn are:
1. Straightening the shank.
2. Dressing knots.
3. Making a peg joint.
4. Preparing the handle.
5. Gluing the handle to the shank and adjusting if necessary.
6. Handle shaping.
7. Finishing the stick.
