About Thomas B Timbrell

Thomas B Timbrell is a traditional blacksmith specialising as a bladesmith and cutler with a focus on historic knife designs. He spends most of his time researching and recreating knives from throughout history, making them as accurately as possible to the original archeology.  As well as this, Thomas works on more modern knives, hand forging the blades as well as utilising more modern methods of construction with many of his designs being inspired by his research. Thomas regularly tours the UK providing blacksmithing demonstrations for events and historic sites across the country.

17th Century Eating Knife

A reproduction of a 17th Century  eating knife from the collections of the Worshipful Company of Cutlers. The blade is forged from carbon steel and is fire welded to an iron bolster inlaid with simple silver decoration and is completed with a faceted bone handle.
