Susannah is a hand embroidery artist and designer based at Cockpit Studios in Bloomsbury. She works in two different styles, abstract and figurative, both inspired by nature. Her figurative work combines tonal pencil drawing with hand embroidery using machine embroidery threads. In her abstract work she stitches into leather creating detailed textured artworks. Her original designs are reproduced for luxury fabric, wallpaper and home accessories. In 2021 Susannah was awarded a QEST Finnis Scott Foundation Scholarship and in 2022 she received a Newby Trust Award at Cockpit Studios. Susannah is a member of Design Nation and the Society of Designer Craftsmen. She exhibits her work regularly and is open to commissions.
