Orthodox Icon f The Mother of God and Christ (Theotokos). Painted in the Byzantine Style using the traditional icon technique of egg tempera. The base is a a linen covered, gessoed poplar board. I used natural pigments to paint this icon and it is gilded with 22 K gold leaf.
