About Michelle Daniels
Hand thrown stoneware for use in the home & individual raku fired vessels. Each piece in my stoneware range is individually made and then decorated with impressed & roulette decoration. The pots are then glazed with high temperature stoneware glazes, creating durable and functional pieces for everyday use. My raku range is hand thrown & assembled or altered. Pots consists of a range of both ‘naked’ and glazed raku wares. Forms are inspired by Asian architecture, surfaces by the beautiful tea plantations of Munnar, Kerala and surrounding landscapes. Each piece is wheel thrown and then coated with terra sigillata slips, some are burnished, some glazed. These pots are then fired to approximately 950 degrees in my basic raku kiln.
