About Louise McLean
Louise McLean is a basket-maker & bee-skep maker who has lived and worked for the biggest part of her life on the outskirts of Portrush, a seaside town situated along the picturesque Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland. The panoramic views, stunning beaches and breath-taking scenery have all contributed to the inspiration and influence of the work produced. Louise has exhibited and sold her work locally and internationally and has worked alongside many masters and many makers from across the world including an introduction to flax work in New Zealand
Areas of study - University of Ulster Traditional Heritage Craft Skills (2001 - 2006) basketry, wood carving, needle-craft, forge-work (specialist area basketry).
