About Laura's Loom
I design and create weaving yarns and woven fabrics using predominantly British wools which I source directly from local farms in the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. I work closely with British weaving mills to produce a range of scarves and throws designed by me and woven from my yarn. The yarn is also suitable for tweed and has been successfully used by knitters and tapestry weavers. I also weave bespoke and commission pieces in a variety of yarns on my handlooms.

Cumbrian Summer Blankets
With its striking two-sided geometric design, our Cumbrian Summer Blanket is a colourful delight. Use it as an extra ‘sheet’ in Winter or as a lightweight layer on cool summer nights. In the north of England we often need a blanket year-round. This one will brighten up your day in every season.
Our newest blanket is available in five bright colourways: Grass (green), Sky (blue), Damson (purple), Madder (red) and Rust (orange-yellow), all offset by a subtle silver grey base. We have produced a limited run of just 10 in each colourway so order yours quickly!
- woven from our Cumbrian Tweed yarn
- 100% British wool – a blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Hebridean wools
- approx size: 158cm x 200cm plus short fringe
- recommended care: gentle handwash in lukewarm water with eco-friendly soap. Wrap in a towel to dry then hang over a rail. A warm iron will remove any creases.
