SANDWICH MEDIEVAL CENTRE

About SANDWICH MEDIEVAL CENTRE
Recreation and display of medieval living history with the aim of educating through crafts, skills and re-enactment within a timber framed visitor centre. The building is situated by the Sandwich Quay, close to the town, once an important port. Within the centre is a working replica forge, a wood-fired brick oven, a boat building workshop area, education area with a mini-scriptorium and crafts workshop space upstairs. We will soon be welcoming a full scale replica medieval ship to sit alongside the building. Special events throughout the year include a wider range of crafts, re-enactments and entertainments. The centre relies on volunteers and is run by the Sandwich Medieval Trust, a registered charity.
