About John Richards
John Richards trained at the London College of Printing under the late Arthur Johnson, one of Britain’s finest craft bookbinders. Since establishing his business in 1980 John Richards has become a highly regarded bookbinder with commissions from The Royal Academy, The National Trust, The Asiatic Society and many private collectors and antiquarian booksellers. Although specialising in the conservation of old books, John Richards provides a full range of bookbinding services including new bindings, box making and paper repair. All work is carried out by John Richards personally, using only high quality leather and materials, including genuine gold leaf. Winner of Society of Bookbinders International Competition 2007.
