One half of Alison and Hugh's Handmade Things, Hugh is a woodworker focusing on historic furniture for museums, reenactors and heritage organisations, though he also works for private clients on domestic furniture.  He specialises in carved pieces, particularly boxes, aumbreys and chests.  He is often to be found looking at extant pieces in museums, churches and castles - often lying on the floor to try to see obscure construction details.
