About Dawn Bache

As a hand weaver I believe in the beauty and sustainability of British wool. By hand spinning, hand weaving and plant dyeing rare breed sheep's fleece and locally sourced alpaca, I am able to create bespoke cushions, shawls and art works, which merge traditional skills with contemporary design. Inspiration is drawn from our unique British heritage and the East Yorkshire coast. Hand stitched art works, which often include images from discarded vintage photographs, explore the frequently hidden stories of our human connection to sheep and reconnect us to our rural traditions, the land and the origins of wool.
