Hand spinning metal is an extremely old trade which most people have never heard of yet many items in and around their homes and businesses are hand spun, or used to be before mass production of cheap pressed or machine-made goods took over. Hand spinning takes years to master and is fascinating to watch if never seen before. I have been a precision metal spinner for over 16 years, hand spinning for the aerospace and nuclear industries working to extremely tight tolerances (as tight as 0.1mm) as well as all kinds of commercial spinning and one-off pieces in standard and exotic metals. My love of metal spinning has led me to making decorative and statement lighting, flower pots, candle holders and bowls etc., from my small workshop in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Everything I sell is handmade to order, British-made with passion and a high level of workmanship. All the tools I use to spin metal are also handmade by myself, from the mandrels to the tools I use to manipulate the metal. As well as my own work I also take commissions and multiple batch orders of parts or components.
