About Anita Vozik
Learning to weave seats and baskets has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Ever since I took the Creative Basketry course at City Lit in 2011, learning both traditional and contemporary basket-weaving techniques, I have been passionate to expand and develop my knowledge by travelling across countries to discover traditional weaving styles.
After I completed the course I got the chance to work on traditional cane and rush chairs, at John Lawler’s antique restoration workshop, in 2013. After working for John for five years, I set up my own seat-weaving business in 2017. I repair cane and rush chairs, as well as wicker furniture. I have been a member of the Basketmakers’ Association and the Basketry Collective group.
