Hi, I've been involved in coppicing and related crafts for over 40 years, originally making hurdles and rustic furniture, expanded my range slowly to include walking sticks, besom brooms, rakes, plant supports etc. I'm particularly well known for rustic furniture and running courses for the public to make their own chairs and benches etc. My focus has always been finding interesting niche uses for the wood I coppice, recognizing products and selecting them from huge heaps of hazel, blackthorn, dogwood, ash. I deplore waste and have endeavoured to find markets for everything I harvest. I'm currently interested in exploring the viability of making hazel thatching spars
