I teach principally spinning, dyeing and knitting though I also use other disciplines in my own work, ranging from lace techniques, braiding, macrame, crochet, sewing, embroidery and drawing. I have 30 years experience as a tutor, and have taught extensively to spinners and weavers guilds in the UK and abroad. I teach day and residential workshops from my home/B&B in Southwest Scotland. I am an assessor for the Certificate of Achievement and have held 2 world records for "The Longest Thread" I have numerous spinning tutorial videos available to view from my website and am a member of Ravelry (chicksinrubber) I am also one of a very few women qualified to teach Fly fishing to advanced level.
Technical aspects of spinning including fleece appreciation and grading, carding and combing preparation of raw fleece, Long draw and short draw spinning. Laceweight yarns and exotic fibres.
